Discover St Ives

St Ives has its own special appeal, with narrow, twisting streets, colourful harbour and golden beaches. Famous as an artists' colony with many galleries.

It is home to the renowned Tate Gallery St Ives and an ideal base to explore South West Cornwall. With cliff top walks along the spectactular coastal path and five stunning beaches close at hand, there is much for the visitor to enjoy locally, including surfing, water sports, fishing and boat trips. Golf and horseriding are available within a short drive.

Cornwall is the land of Celtic legend with archaelogical sites of ancient villages, quoits and mysterious stone circles. Its industrial heritage reflects Cornwall's contribution to the industrial revolution (world heritage status) with tin & copper mines, processing works and the innovation of steam power. There are miles of spectacular coastline and moorland to explore, pretty villages, historic houses and unspoilt coves to discover, as well as leading attractions such as the Eden Project, Land's End, St Michael's Mount and the Minack Theatre.

The beautiful Gardens of Cornwall are favoured by the county's mild climate, enabling subtropical plants to thrive, and are particulary worth a visit in Spring.
